This is what yesterdays macro posting looks like, anyone know what they are called ?

Dianthus caryophyllus, the carnation or clove pink, is a species of Dianthus. It is probably native to the Mediterranean region but its exact range is unknown due to extensive cultivation for the last 2,000 years. It is an herbaceous perennial plant growing up to 80 cm tall. Wikipedia

Ah ha, Dianthus. I knew the stems and flower bases looked like carnations, but the flowers sure don’t.

@blind_lens Thank you so much for your interesting comments and identification, they do look like carnations but are much smaller and have many flowers on the single stem with two stamens in each flower:)

It would be a dianthus or sometimes known as 'pinks'.. I should think they are in the same family as carnations .. but they have multi heads.. very spicy perfume..

I have seen dianthus before, but they are always red in our area. I've never seen any this color. Beautiful.
