Fuzz by peadar

Fuzz

If you can spare the time, please try it on black (simply click the photo).

One for the current macro challenge. Also I think qualifies for the technique challenge.

Shot with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II, with a 20mm extension tube, so also fits in with the August nifty-fifty celebration/challenge.
It does indeed look fab on black

It qualifies for lots of challenges! Very good

Sue
Great image of something pretty ordinary (I am assuming it is a brush?)
August 15th, 2017
Great focus and I really like the reflection too.

If there's a paper cup hidden behind it, then it also qualifies for the mundane challenge ;-) Nice pic against black!

Cool macro and reflection fav
August 15th, 2017
creative and cool shot ... cool reflection and idea!
August 15th, 2017
Paint brush? You didn't give any clues in your tags this time! Very nice shot
August 15th, 2017
On black the reflection shows up nicely

Looks good on black. I know it is a brush, but it reminds me of a dead cat. Not a real dead cat, but the sort you put over your microphone on your camera.

How could I not fav this, awesome image

@suzanne234 @caterina @suesouthwood @flowerfairyann @stimuloog @dawnee @lynnz @fbailey @joannakate @onewing @nicolecampbell Many thanks to you all for your nice comments. I'm just answering to say, yes, it is a brush, and more specifically, it is the business end of a 50mm paint brush. The white ends to the bristles are actually designed into the bristles (they're not left-over paint!) and I've always struggled to know why the manufacturer has done this. It looks very pretty but I can't discern any practical use or reason? Any ideas welcome!

Did you hear the buzz? It's Péter who's making great fuzz! ;-)
Just an earworm in my head this morning ;-) Have an inspiring day!
August 16th, 2017
@stimuloog Thank you! Now you've mentioned the word inspiring, I'm bound to feel completely at sea! Anyway, thank you for the extra accent on the first "e" in my name. It looks rather charming. Was that just an error, or does it mean something technical? ;-)
August 16th, 2017
Yes, definitely better on black
August 16th, 2017
Great image. I thought at first it might have been a badger hair shaving brush because of the white tips.
August 16th, 2017
@peadar The accent on the 'e' means in Dutch that that letter gets more strength. I could also have written: PETER. I have to look in the Google translator for the right word.
August 16th, 2017
Ah, ja, the accent is to emphasize the word ;-)
August 16th, 2017
@stimuloog Well, now I have learnt something. 🙂
August 16th, 2017
Apparently brush bristles are normally from pigs and that's the way they draw. Who knew?! I thought it was a shaving brush at first. Smashing macro.

Wonderfully simple captured.
August 17th, 2017
Fabulous! Simple and technically perfect as always Peter.

Fantastic image! A very creative treatment to make the brush look exciting and fresh.

After spending the last 3 weeks painting many rooms in my house this cracked me up!😊 You did a great job! It looks just like one of mine! And it does look terrific on black. Great coloring and reflection!

@pistache Clare, thank you, I didn't even know!
August 25th, 2017
I voted for it before I knew it was yours so it was good to find that it is - if you see what I mean!!
August 25th, 2017
@quietpurplehaze Hazel, thank you!
