A grey, cloudy and misty day. The river here was perfectly calm so I couldn't resist these reflections.
This is Shoreham, Kent, one of a chain of pretty villages along the Darent Valley that runs from Sevenoaks north to the Thames. It is located just outside the outer London boundary, about 25 miles from Trafalgar Square and Westminster.
@suesouthwood Sue, yes, I'd forgotten all about that (I even commented on your shot!) Well, if we're both knocking about in adjacent neighbourhoods, we're bound to come across the same photo opportunity every now and then! Your shot has reminded me that we used to have the sun here until only a few days ago!
I dream about owning a cottage where I could just moor my boat at the foot of my garden. Lovely place. I ought to wander down there sometime. I have several friends in the area.
Great detail on black Peter, its idyllic living next to rivers, but as a lot of people have found to their cost it come with a lot of problems and risk of flooding. My partner and I wanted to move to Devon till we found the very high cost of insurance because risk of flooding. So now in January we will be moving to Rutland instead we are down sizing to a 2 bed bungalow.
