This is Poulton-le-Fylde station. A hundred years or so ago, this was the local rail station for Fleetwood (north of Blackpool) serving boat train passengers sailing off to Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. The station had relatively long platforms to deal with the longer trains and number of passengers involved. It has been maintained well, and still carries a faintly Victorian air to those using it now for commuter services into Preston, Manchester, York and Leeds.
An interesting and well shot photograph. I especially like the old clock, good to see that it has not been replaced by those characterless electronic things that now infest our platforms. Like to see it in monochrome, could be quite atmospheric.
What an attractive station - I didn't really notice it on my trip to Blackpool a few weeks ago. I will have to look more closely next time I pass through - fav!
