It's Saturday, it's market day! I decided to try a different feel to these shots, away from the white space (too much snow outside, anyway) and into something a little more dark. These are sharon fruit. I think they are from China?
Many thanks for getting little Robin on to the Popular Page, and for all your other comments.
Yay for market day! :) I love the grey backdrop and outstanding DOF :)
We call them persimmons here, but I have heard Sharon fruit as well :) They are one of my favorites! :) Great lighting of they yummy guys :)
delicious......sharon fruit are bred from persimmon but without the mouth puckering result if underripe!! Absolutely irresistable.......and what a lovely shot on grey!! hey how about black?
In Japan, we call them "kaki" and I absolutely love their flavor when fully ripe. In fact, one of the biggest delights of traveling home to Japan in the fall months was to enjoy this fruit in all kinds of dishes. I like them dried, cooked, fresh, preserved, etc. (I was starting to sound rather Dr. Seuss-ish so I had to stop.) But these days, you can even get them at Costco!
