st mary the virgin by peadar

st mary the virgin

This is a shot I planned for my real 365 project, but somehow never got around to it.

The parish church of St Mary the Virgin has been a place of Christian worship for over eight hundred years. The church probably succeeded an earlier Saxon church on the same site. This was mentioned in the Domesday Survey in 1086 as a 'church in Bixle' where it is said that St Paulinus came to preach.
A great shot and very appropriate Peter.
