A New Year's Day walk sees us striding past this lovely and ancient church - dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul - in Shoreham, Kent. It dates originally from Norman times (12th century). There is a name board in the Church listing rectors, vicars and curates, which has the first rector dated to 1242. Much of the current building dates from the 16th/17th Century - it's a lovely spot.
That is a beautiful piece of architecture. I love history and spend ages in churches, castles and the like. Looks like a lovely sunny day for the 1st of the year - long may it continue!
When you consider how they built churches in those days, it is amazing. They didn't have the equipment that they have now but don't you think they had much better architectural design! Lovely shot
