Focus On What You Can Do...Not on What You Can't ~
Since being diagnosed with RA several years ago, I've had to give up a lot of things that I loved...tennis, teaching yoga, and I thought drawing. But, I read that Pierre-Auguste Renoir had severe rheumatoid arthritis and learned to adapt his style of painting as the disease progressed. With very limited movement in his hands and shoulders, he had an assistant place his brushes in his hand and he still worked his magic on the canvas. With inspiration like that and from the stories of so many 365 friends overcoming adversity far greater than what I experience, I got my drawing supplies out from the back of the closet today. :)
Love it! It's a favorite!!! Your drawing is beautiful and I love the composition of the photo. I am so sorry you are challenged with RA. Prayers for you.
This is very lovely, Peggy. It shows the working of your philosophy very nicely. I had to give up so many things, too, but I did the same as you and worked out the things I could do with relative comfort. Taking photographs is another!
@girlie - You've been one my inspirations, Robin. I never would have imagined that you are an RA warrior. A positive attitude and perseverance is everything with this challenge!
Peggy, that is amazing. What a talent you have. I'm so glad that you were able to find your confidence and go beyond the pain of the RA. It's really really beautiful. I also love the picture that you took of your supplies. You really do have "the eye". Great job!
thank you peggy but i actually like yours a lot better than mine. i think mine is obvious and overly done...but it was a first attempt. i will work harder tomorrow. did you sketch this because it's very pretty!
@isisweiss Thanks, Isis. Yes, this is one of my drawings...trying to get back into it after a long hiatus. But, it's a start. Can't wait to see what you come up with tomorrow!
How wonderful! You're not only overcoming adversity, but you're excelling! We in the 365 community cheer you on...we love our artists and the works they share! (This looks an awful lot like Minnie Driver...is that what you intended?)
I am so impressed by your talent. You are so creative and what a wonderful outlook on life. You are such a role model for your new grandchild. Thanks for sharing. Great photo.
Peggy, this is such a GREAT drawing and a wonderful photo of your drawing...it seems to really pop and come to life even though it is not 3D. I really really love this! I'm so glad that you were able to overcome your feelings of "I guess I'll never be able to again" and replaced them with "and why the heck not"!

Congrats on your beautiful creation and finding yourself again!!!!
@girlie@kirsty Wow! Are you kidding me?! I'll have to check that out! I almost didn't use this drawing as my post thinking it really wasn't good enough. Thanks for pointing that out, Robin and Kirsty!
@isisweiss Robin and Kirsty pointed that out to me this early this morning...I couldn't believe it! I only posted that drawing photo because I couldn't think of anything else to post! Thanks for the congrats!
