Another beautiful 80 degree (26 C) day. I planted part of the herb garden just in time to take advantage of the rain moving in late this afternoon. The rest of the herbs and bedding plants will have to wait a few more weeks until there's no danger of frost. Around here April 15 is the official last frost date..but I usually can't wait quite that long. :)

Thanks for the comments, Emer, Kerry and Sirkka. I always jump the gun with spring planting. But I've learned to only plant enough to satisfy my gardening urge until spring weather is official. :)
@judithg
It's totally not normal, Judith. Our average high temps this time of year is about 55 F/13 C. But come on to NC anyway ~ would love to have you as a neighbor! :)
I've been thinking bout planting too....but I may not even live here past Spring and all the experts say it's too early....Oh and don't exactly have a car I can go load-down at Lowe's with all the necessities...nevermind.
Wow, are you kidding...80 degrees already? We're having a heatwave here today at 30!
Your herbs look fabulous, so lush and healthy...thanks for sharing this wonderful Spring preview Peggy!
Wow 80 degrees? And your official last frost date in April? Crikey... I have a cold 5 degrees today!! That's the UK for ya. ;-/
Can't wait for the sun. Herbs looking v healthy.
We got quite the storm last night too! I tried to photograph lighting but failed miserably. These look like very healthy plants, I like how you composed this shot. Parsley and...?
26C your very lucky is a balmy 10C here. Really love your composition here sticks nicely to the rule of thirds and the fact I can see you in the spade!
Sooo inspiring, Peggy. I bought a few punnets of veg and herbs after being inspired by one of your other shots. But alas just don't feel like gardening in 36c!
Thanks for your comments! The run of warm weather we've had recently is a bit of an anomaly. As a matter of fact it's supposed to dip a bit below freezing tonight. So, the herbs (oregano and parsley) pictured above have been covered up for the evening. But I only planted a few things...just enough to satisfy my urge to garden until I'm supposed to garden according to the calendar. :)
