These silos are located along the light rail line just outside of the uptown area. I believe they are empty now...they used to be a part of a plant that is no longer there. But the silos remain and have been spruced up a bit. Wish I could have taken this on the other side of the power lines. But beyond the fence is a methadone clinic and I didn't want the clients that were coming and going to think I was photographing them. Not cool. I got a much better shot from the clinic parking lot some time ago. However, it was early on a Sunday morning and the clinic was closed. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. :)
These are great - love that face one! Glad you didn't get tangled up in the methadone clinic - I think they may have moved ours but it used to be just part of a normal doctor's surgery - not much fun sitting in the waiting room with a poorly toddler I don't imagine.
They're great. It's funny, I considered putting up a shot of some ex-silos just a couple of days ago. The ones I took were in Bunbury and had been converted into apartment blocks.
I have to tell you that I had to google methadone clinic. At first I thought that maybe there were meth dealers behind the silos, and that's why you didn't want to go back there, but that seemed a little far fetched. Duh!! I really don't lead that sheltered of a life! I also have never seen painted silos, and I love how they renovated the old silos in to something interesting to look at. Very fun!
