I halfheartedly went to a Merle Haggard concert with Tom ten months ago only because Tom really wanted to go. I think I had always felt I was 'too cool' for 'that kind of country music'. I discovered I hadn't been close to cool enough. The man and his music were so real, so without pretense...it was simply beyond 'cool'. I became an instant Merle fan. I'm sorry I was so late to the show. Rest in peace, Merle Haggard.
Three Good Things:
1. Never being too old to learn
2. Elizabeth and Jeff happily heading to Augusta for Round 3 golf action
3. Saturday morning kids soccer games
I love country music Peggy & you Americans have a great appreciation of it whereas here in the UK it's a sort of older persons thing. A great loss to the country music scene!
@happypat There's nothing like the honesty of country music, Pat. And there's nothing like music in general. I'm a fan of all music genres...some in much more limited quantities than others. ☺
