This (non-venomous) rat snake gave me a start when I was doing some work in the yard yesterday. It didn't stick around and took off down the sidewalk. Last week I saw a photo a neighbor posted of a big rat snake climbing a tree in his backyard. I thought, 'glad that's not in my yard'. Looks like it found me just to say hello.
