A sizeable crowd had gathered outside of Bitty & Beau's Coffee shop for the ribbon cutting yesterday. The first Bitty & Beau's opened in 2016 in Wilmington, NC. Five years later, there are 23 shops in 12 states...this one in Charlotte's Southend being the newest. Bitty & Beau's is named for owners Amy and Ben Wright's two youngest children who were both born with Down's Syndrome. Bitty & Beau's employs workers with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Owner Amy Wright received CNN's 2017 Hero of the Year award for her wonderful advocacy efforts on behalf of the disabled.
Three Good Things:
1. A surprise meet up with Harper and Will's visiting Ary grandparents at Will's football game yesterday.
2. The overcast and rainy weather of last week has cleared out.
3. A beautiful October Sunday
Well what a very noble & inspiring cause Peggy. All power to their coffee pots, I’m sure they get lots of support but we always love another place to meet up with friends.
