Halloween

Looks like the bars are preparing this American celebration...don't like at all, but it's something that is going to take part in my life as it's everywhere. Anyway, I like this design on my coffee :P

Parece ser que los bares se preparan para esta fiesta Americana...no me gusta del todo, pero es algo que va a pasar en mi vida dado que está por todas partes.
Da igual, el diseño de mi café está chulo jajaja
Your comment is interesting... As an American, I don't know that I could say where the tradition began! Certainly in Mexico they celebrate Dia de los Muertos with skeletons and I wonder if that, coupled with the approach of American Thanksgiving & traditional pumpkins, if it didn't all come together. Must research this! It should be said, that amongst "good" people, young and old, who enjoy the celebration, it's all in good fun.

@Weezilou I don't know if it's the same celebration or not, I thought that in Mexico didn't put pumpkins, but maybe that's the place where it started. I should search for it also!! :P
So, do you give candys to kids at your house? =)

@petaqui I didn't go back to check on the history of the "popularized" Halloween... We're from the US, and since childhood we dressed in costume and people gave us treats at each house (candies). We retired to Lunenburg, Canada (for 6 mo each year) and Halloween is popular here, too. It's fun to have parents bring their children in costume to the door...and this year, most of the parents were in costume, too. We didn't have but about 20 visitors, but we exclaim over the children's costumes, and ask them to tell us about their choices. It makes a nice little evening...and I do like pumpkin and black cat decorations :)
