It was a most incredible moment. We climbed the stairs to the top with torches, prior to the pre-dawn twilight, after staying overnight in the sanctuary. As the dawn light touched the Borobodur, it was as though I felt through my feet, the giant mandala tremble as it greeted the sun rising behind the volcano, Mt Merapi. With the dawn, small birds started chirping and flying around the stupas. It was a quite unbelievable feeling and there is a sensation of wonderment for my contemplations.
Afterwards, we toured the galleries of the giant mandala, where our guide told us parables and the story of Siddartha based on the carvings illustrating the walls.
Many thanks to everyone who has commented, faved and followed my photos. It was wonderful to see that two of my photos were in Top 20 this week. Please accept my apologies for not commenting while traveling until the end of next week.

Except that our day was 14th May, we may have passed close by you at Borobudur! Small world, but a beautiful and exciting one.
