@grammyn you need to look more closely. The English novelist George Eliot was a pseudonym for the writer Mary Ann Cross. It was not always acceptable for women to write. Apart from writers also being pens, visitors also leave pens sticking in the grave in remembrance and homage. These are clearly visible.
So...after my car wreck almost four years ago I had som blood clotting in my eyes. I can still see but not nearly as well as I could before the accident. It's kind of like the difference between fine motor skills and gross motor skills. I can see big things easily but I can't see detail too easily. In addition to that I was on my computer instead of my iPad so I wasn't able to enlarge the photo so I could see it easier. I couldn't discern the writing on the tombstone at all. I still had a difficult time once I got on my iPad of discovering the pans. They look a lot like some strange plant life to me in black-and-white especially. You were there so you know what to look for which probably makes it easier for you to see them too. Thank you for taking the time to explain to me. I had forgotten about George Eliot and appreciate your instruction (; How exciting it must've been to be there.
@peterdegraaff I know you have been through a lot too. That's why I'm so excited that you had such a glorious time in Europe… Or at least I'm assuming you did because of all your photos. My health is basically good it's just my eyesight that is not so hot anymore and it could be so much worse so I'm not complaining!
