Church in the Snow by pflaume

Church in the Snow

St. Jude's Catholic Church founded in 1894, Garden Valley, Idaho.

I liked the line of church windows and wooden slats than lead the eye into the distance, where the clouds have cleared and a beautiful blue sky is revealed.
I like the lines and I also like the green roof!

Beautiful shot Lisa. A very different building from the church I posted on Sunday.

Your description is what I like about it too. Beautifully composed. Since joining 365 I have gotten a whole new appreciation for older buildings. We in Idaho tend to look at a church built in 1894 as old, but then we see someone's photo from the UK, or Germany, etc and we see buildings 1000 years old! This has sure been an education.

Love the repeating pattern of the windows and the wonderful freshness of the snow and sky here - great :)

@rvwalker This is so true! Age is definitely relative. 365 Project is a wonderful window to the world. I had not idea that would be the case when I joined. Now I wouldn't want to miss it. Thank you for your comment!

So very pretty...nice repetition with the windows. Doesn't the snow make things look amazing!
January 30th, 2013
@dolphin I thought the same thing! To us, this is an old church but it's a babe compared to the old and beautiful buildings around you. The opportunity to see images from all over the world is an unexpected bonus of the 365 Project for me.

Beautiful! I love the lines of the church and the wonderful blues in the sky. Such a pretty shot!

Pretty windows!

@pflaume I agree. It's also making me appreciate more what I have around me too.

Beautiful old church! I know nothing about Idaho except that potatos are grown there. I didn't realize it has such a beautiful landscape.
January 30th, 2013
love the crispness of this photo..nicely done :)

@kmwilliams Thanks Kate!

@lisabell Thank you, Lisabell! Idaho is definitely known for potatoes (successful marketing!). It also has a very rugged, varied and beautiful landscape. There are mountains, forests, high deserts, canyons, and agricultural areas in the state. Stay tuned for more photos to come during this 365 year. :) Thanks again for your comments today and to past posts. I always appreciate them.
