Today was a disappointing haul of photos for me. I took many, but none feel quite right. I snapped this one on my morning walk. I liked the way the two different tree canopies merged together like puzzle pieces. It was just one shot in passing, and I regret not working on the composition a bit more. Alas, it is the best I have for today. Hoping for more inspiration tomorrow.
Thank you all for taking the time to visit my album. I appreciate all of your encouraging comments and favs.
Lisa, this is outstanding! I've tried to get shots like this and they were trash. Yours works, perhaps because you hauled yourself out of bed in time to get beautiful sunrise colors. You really have a great eye for subject and composition, so I suppose I would like to see a shot like this that you're proud of! ;)
It's funny how, over time, you realise that certain subjects really 'speak' to you and reflections is one of those for me! This is lovely - the colours are beautiful
Isn't that always the way? You think "Okay, I'll just snap this, it's kind of pretty" and it turns out to be the best you get, no matter the effort you put into the rest of the day's shots.
I'm always reluctant to take this kind of photo, with the branches of one tree meeting other trees "top to bottom", but having seen this, it seems like it can work. Thank you!
No apologies needed for this shot, missy! It is beautifully composed with gorgeous tones. The capture of the down branches and up weeds is spot on. @david68 Perfect :-)
I agree with all the other positive comments already made. Not sure why you're disappointed in this - I think it's beautiful. The colours of the sky are lovely and the way the branches meet each other makes for a really interesting composition.
This is wonderful Lisa. I love the contrast between the two types of trees and how the colour somewhat divides the shot. Amazing how you snapped it in passing, you rock!
@dolphin Thanks so much, Molly. I appreciate your comment and encouragement. I think everything was looking blah to me by the end of the day yesterday. Just one of those days, I guess. I have warmed to this shot today, and am glad you like it, too.
@timandelke Thank you, Elke! You are so right about being our worst critics. We can be so hard on ourselves, can't we! Thanks for understanding and for your support in this project. It means a lot to me!
@roadshow Thank you so much, Gloria. I needed to hear that. Yesterday was just a downer of day. I am seeing this one in new light today. I appreciate your understanding and support in this project.
@jodimuli Thanks so much, Joey! I needed to hear that. Just wasn't my day yesterday. Feeling much more cheerful today. I really appreciate your follow and sweet comments.
I'm shooting all monochrome this month to hone on those manual skills and it's a bit tough to stay inspired.. this burst of sky is just what I needed to see.. so beautifully captured.. yes, a veil..
Clever idea and it works well ... very pretty colours ... perhaps u were seeing something u really liked but just couldn't get ... annoying, but u got something others can see and really like instead!
Don't underestimate your ability to spot a good picture and take a quick shot. Sometimes they are the best shots because we don't overthink them. This is nice shot and well done- the colors in the sky are very soft and pretty. And I like what David said- a tree's version of stalactities and stalagmites.
i love your silhouetted tree branches. we are our worst critics tho, aren't we....i suppose that's just the way it is. i have been there many times....seems like i take 10x the amount i think i need, come home, download and then say, wow, really? is that all? haha~ i just swallow, smile and move on with it.
@moreyoulessme You totally understand, Jerri! It sounds like we go about things the same way. Most days, I do just tell myself to relax, this is a learning process, etc. Other days, the critic inside gets the best of me. Thanks for empathizing and especially for your comment & support!
