This fire hydrant is located in front of my neighbor's house. They planted the lavender a few years back in an effort to conceal the "unsightly" hydrant. The plants are now large and full enough that they are doing just that. I think the lavender enveloped hydrant makes for a charming piece of garden art.
Love the colour and composition of this shot. The red really pops. And the lavender is so lovely. I have some in my back garden but it isn't quite this lush ...
Oh, the lavendar is stunning against that red, gorgeous Lisa! It might be hard to find that hydrant in a crisis situation, especially if it was at night.
Haha - well spotted Lisa! Aesthetics win over practicality every time. I love Lavender and the red hydrant really pops out of the blue hue. I like the red hot poker idea of Paul's above too. :-)
The two do look very good together and your capture of them is lovely - good eye!
And if the hydrant ever springs a leak, the water will smell beautiful :-D
Awesome find... i found photographed a red hydrant last week too. Just like mine, i also love the contrast here. The green/purple against the red.. fav for me!
Fav! What a great eye you have! I noticed a few cool fire hydrants while up in the Northwest this past week, but none enshrouded with gorgeous flowers!
And if the hydrant ever springs a leak, the water will smell beautiful :-D
