One with the Wind

Please forgive one more hot air balloon photo. I am still editing the hundreds of photos taken during two visits to the balloon festival and finding some favorites. I liked the stillness of this shot, a contrast to the vibrant, exuberant image that precedes it in my album. It appears that this balloon is all alone over the landscape. I purposely shot so that just the tops of our foothills are visible but not the buildings, streets, and city life just below the frame.

Really beautiful - very peaceful shot with the isolation of the balloon emphasised by the bareness of the hills below. The depth of colour is wonderful! Hot air balloons look so peaceful and I was disappointed when I went up in one a few years ago how noisy the burners are - much better to look at!
