This is the best shot that I have managed with my macro lens so far. I am very pleased with the rose details and the focus of the frost crystals. This rose bush is in my garden and behind it stands a clump of tall grasses. The grasses turned out to look very busy and distracting in the shot so I covered them with a piece of black cloth.
Did you get a new macro lens? The frost crystals follow the edges of the petals so beautifully. The color is nice, and you did the right thing with the plain background.
@rvwalker Hi Ross, no this is my one and only macro lens. I just haven't used it very much. I have found it really hard to work with! This shot gives me hope though. I just have to keep trying.
