Afternoon moon rise over snow traced hills. Although the shot was taken in daylight, I opted for a low key B&W processing in Silver FX Pro which gives the image a night time feel and much more atmosphere than the color original had.
An entry for the BW-Bookclub.
My settings for this shot: 300 mm, ISO 100, f/11, 1/400.
Fantastic work and I really love the night atmosphere, so great processing! This feels somehow surreal, like I would be watching the moon from the moon, if you know what I mean -this feels like some kind of distant planet with the dynes. Fav
This is totally amazing! It is beautiful and breathtaking. The processing give it such a wonderful almost other worldly atmosphere! A huge FAV. Thank you Lisa for such lovely comment on my end of first year posting. You are so talented and gifted...I have admired your project from the very beginning. Thank you for all your encouragement and inspiration along the way.You have helped make this project a fantastic experience!
A big FAV!So many beautiful elements in this image! You made it look very cosmic! The hills look like being seen from the moon and at the same time there is much detail on the moon.Love the pattern on the ground, the lines in the clouds and the smooth tonal transition in the sky!Fantastic processing! I was wondering what lens you had used to capture such a distant object in an wide angle appearance?
@my_photofun@elaine55 Hi Elaine & Darinka, Thank you both for your enthusiastic comments. So glad you like this shot. I took it with my 300 mm telephoto lens, ISO 100, f/11, 1/400. Elaine, I did not underexpose in camera. I processed it in Silver FX Pro and opted for a low key process. I tweaked it then to bring out the contrast to the moon. I hope that helps.
This is a really thoughtful image and looks wonderful viewed large: there's so much to look at even though it's a simple composition. Really effective low key processing.
Absolutely- this shot is one of those examples where black and white improved the shot because of how you treated the gray tones. Absolutely love this- fav!
Wow, this looks incredible and surreal! Didn't think it could be a non-Photoshopped image but realizing it was a daytime moon makes so much sense. Great job!
@roadshow Thank you, Gloria, for your comments and favs on my photos today. It was so nice of you to stop by and I'm delighted you liked what you saw. :) I think you will really enjoy the Nik Suite. To be honest, at this point I only use the Silver FX program but that alone is worth it. It makes editing B&W a very fun and creative process.
I would love to know the EXIF And did you under expose n the camera?
I've started a trial of the nik suite. Love it, especially the b&w. Hope you are well, friend.
