This driveway leads to an Oregon Trail Monument and network of hiking trails. It's in my neighborhood so I walk here often. I have taken countless photos of the line of posts. Their repeating shapes and leading lines have always been intriguing. I liked them especially with their late afternoon shadows seemingly pointing to the route of the Oregon Trail.
Processed in B&W for the BW-Bookclub. I am behind in assignments but still trying to "see" in B&W this month. I love what B&W processing does to the sky. I experimented with different film filters in Silver Efex Pro and settled on "Agfa 100" (I think!). I know nothing about film qualities but liked the drama it added to the cloudscape.
Great POV Lisa and I love the way those curves lead you through the photo into infinity. It works so well in Black and White too, The processing is great and I love the sky too!
Gorgeously dramatic, wonderful composition and wonderful processing.
A fav. Lisa, I am going to be in your area in the second week of March. Is there a way to reach you if I have the time to meet up?
@sansjuan Hi Nita, that would be great! I would love to meet if you have time. Let me know when you are on line and I will leave my contact info for you.
Great perspective and I love the sky! The name 'Oregon Trail' has such a romantic feel to it - we saw a bit of it when I was in my teens but would love to visit again
This is a great composition, with those wonderful shadows, and the processing is brilliant. I'm really behind with the bookclub too - think I shall have to go back to it when I have more time.
Now, I know you've just said some very kind things about one of my shots, but this is in no way a reflex response. I absolutely adore this Lisa, and for the first time in a long time have seen a shot that I would give a very large space on a wall over too. Brilliantly seen, composed, processed and a shot IWIHT (I wish I had taken)
Such a simple scene really, but the way you have made use of the leading lines, shadows and excellent processing has really made a wonderful shot, great work.
What I love is the soft flow of the sky and the texture of the sky. Did you have a bit of a longer exposure for that effect? Another fav of one of my favs here. :)
@darylo Thank you, Darryl! No, I did not use a longer exposure. This was just regular hand held, f/11, 1/80. There was great form and texture in the cloud formations and B&W really made them pop. So glad you like it!

For sure a fav!
@seanoneill Love the acronym, was trying to figure it out earlier.
Congrats. on the TT.
