icy sunset by pfmandeville

icy sunset

We don't have a garage, only a parking space under the eaves of our house. So all winter long one side of the car is frozen from melting/refreezing icicles hanging from the eaves. I took these through the car window on my way home from a few errands. No shopping! NEVER on black Friday! Not for me...

You can see the lake is starting to freeze in the second picture. I even accidentally got a man walking his dog in the first one.
This is wonderful! Love the wintery cold feeling and the beautiful colours! Great idea to play with focus :-)

Please tell me that when you say you "accidentally got a man while he was walking his dog" that you meant got his picture, not got him with the car. Like the shot

@yoori @amyhughes @mrssmith Thanks so much!
@sarasdadandmom Ha, no, this time I pulled over off the road. It's better than accidentally "shot" a man, don't you think?

I think it's fun how those two shots look similar, but are focused on two different things!! Cool idea!! :)

cool pics! the pain of not having a garage results in pretty photos.

Great collage; very icy feel to it. Cooling me down nicely down here.

We have the same type of problem. No garage and our cars are out in the open, so any snow means cleaning off the car, heating it up before leaving.

@jomarie thanks, yeah, I couldn't decide which way I liked better. That's how most of my collages happen.
@carole @digitalrn No garage is a real pain - especially when they declare a snow emergency and we have to park one of them a block away. Guess it could be worse.
@girlie Thank you. I have a feeling I'll be wishing for you weather soon. It always happens that way.

I like the two shots together with different focuses - different and both shots have their own feel to them. Beautiful!

this is so beautiful!
November 28th, 2010
I so like the first one for the blurr of the man and dog, if it was a little more in focus or a higher f stop you'd get more focus of the ice and him. like it all the same.

I love the way you've done this!!!
