buck by pfmandeville

buck

Sharon (the one I bought the camera from) took me to Fort Snelling State Park (MN) to see the deer after church and lunch today. (Yes, I got home in time to see the Packers win the Superbowl!) I got a number of pictures of does and fawns but not many of the bucks. I may put the others in a collage in the other album. There is an area where they congregate but the bucks weren't quite as forthcoming as the others.
What a lovely creature he is...many have begun to drop their antlers here in Tennessee.

Lovely close-up shot Pamela. Is the vignetting by design or consequence of long lens....? Either way, it works really well in this shot.

@digitalrn Ha, yeah, you could say that....

@nodecaff Yes, I added the vignette. I also warmed the color and upped the contrast to bring out the color. I just used the P&S which doesn't have much zoom. We were really quite close to them all. There was a parking lot and a circle driving path so the deer must be used to cars and people - they even crossed 10 feet in front of the car.

@goldz1 Well, hello there! Nice to see you here. You should start adding photos! Your project, you can do it any way you want to do it. Thanks for the compliment and thanks for taking me there :) Yeah, I knew I needed some space to the right. I also redid it once because I had cropped too much of the neck off the first time - even though it's about the antlers and face it still needed some neck! Don't look too close but I also had to clone a branches out of the white snow and even more out of the collage. Good practice. :) By the way, when have you ever called me Pamela??
