The clematis that grows over a trellis hiding the shed
Here is the 'south' of a weathervane that sits on top of the trellis.
It's a bit rusty now, but I think this adds to the character of the weathervane.
I could clean it up and add some nice black shiny gloss metal paint, but for the moment the rust rules.
I tried to shoot this with my compact, but could not get the bokeh of the bushes behind, so I got my DSLR out and shot on a wide aperture.
You can just see a blurry 'East' in the bokeh :). I'm not sure if I should have directed the camera at a slightly different angle so the 'E' was out of shot !
I love this shot Phil, the rust certainly does rule! The blurry E gives it perspective and makes it clearer what we are looking at so I think you were right to include it.
I have looked with new eyes at rust since being on 365 !! It makes for a more interesting shot than black shiny that's for sure !! I like the cobwebs too !!
This is a wonderful shot. I love the colours and the rust (please don't blacken it!) and all those whispy bits of cobweb. The east works really well. Top shot - has to be a fav
Love this! Full of character. I'm loving everything about your shed but now we need to see it on its full glory.......and inside too....mine is chaos at the moment!! Full of dumped pots, spilt compost and bird seed! lol and the mowers in there somewhere!! :-)
Lovely weathered weathervane! I agree with Cherrill...we now need a pic of the inside of your shed (to see what you keep in there besides your three red watering cans...)
@whippeteer thanks for the fave Frances, I don't think I will clean it up and paint it.....too much like hard work....besides the rust can go no where :)
@jennlouise Jenni, thank you for your kind comments, it's surprising how a rusty 'S' can make such an nice image...I suppose that's the magic of photography
@cath Catherine , lol, lol, you remembered my three watering cans :) Actually I did a photo the other day of the inside of my shed , but it was a little dark, so I did not post it on here. I promise to show you the inside soon :)
BTW : the three watering cans don't have a home !!! they just live in random places where I leave them !!
