Arnold Sunset - My first on 365

Well this is my first real sunset of my 365.

We'd done our evening 'Ruby walk' and I was getting my 'things' ready for work tomorro......'things' ???...yes 'things' ...hanging my clean shirt , tie, boxers , socks and trousers on a hanger ready for the morning....packing the none perishable items into my lunch box.....mug, teaspoon(s), fruit, penguin bar .......sorry far too much info.......anyway I was packing my things for tomorrow and i noticed the fiery sky.

I shouted my wife and said I was going to take a picture. I didn't want to do a rerun of this shot.........so I told her I was going to go go off our street and walk around onto the main road around the corner .......

"take Ruby with you" my wife shouted !!!!!!..."i've only go a few minutes left" I replied......."she'll love an extra little walk" wifey replied....so a quick "come on Ruby walkies"......a puzzled whippet look......."it's a funny time Dad...what you playing at ??"........by the time I'd ran with Ruby around the corner onto the main road the sky was calming down a little...I'd missed the best ..but this was the pick of about 10 shots !

Coppice Road, Arnold, ..chimneys , tv aerial's , trees, telephone wires and street lamps silhouetted against an Orange sky

Whippet and lead in one hand....camera in other hand !
Beautiful

I love that you've shown the urban silhouette against the sky.

That fiery sun is amazing. Did it portend a beautiful day on the morrow?

"Red at night, shepherd's delight". Wonderful sunset and silhouettes, Phil!

Now that's why I just leave quietly and hope I'm back before they notice!! Beautiful shot - I love a nice chimney pot and these clouds look like smoke coming out of the chimneys!

great sunset shot Phil - what no shopping bag with you?? Did you put this on the sunset setting on the Lumix? I use it a lot when I want to enhance dying colours! Quite like the lines in this

@sparkle thanks juliette, i did some shots on 'intelligent auto' and a few on sunset settings. .....this is sunset settings...with the saturation upped a tad in PSE. Are you shooting RAW on your new Canon or top quality jpegs ? I know it's a dilemma what to shoot when you have a top quality DSLR, but I shoot jpeg because I don't have time to post process all my images !

@happypat thanks PAt , I always seem to have 'dog in hand' when I shoot shots locally :)

@judithg thanks Judith, I hadn't noticed the 'chimney smoke', but now you mention it....yes they do :) ....well spotted :)

@allie912 thanks allison......in answer to your question "Did it portend a beautiful day on the morrow?".....not really ...we had a great sunrise too, but the day only really turned out nice by early afternoon :)

@swilde oh yes Sue, I never really thought of it as urban, but you are right 'very urban' :)

Whenever I try to run out the house with my camera my partner always tells me to take the dog too lol. Your commentary really made me laugh, can I ask why you pack more than one teaspoon? Anyway, laughter aside, this is a totally beautiful and cool sunset pic.

Love the 'Howcroft household snapshot' you capture with your words, as well as the lovely sunset picture you've captured with your camera :o)

Yep. You cannot be 5 minutes late for a sunset! Still awesome colors!

With all that was going on, you pulled off a great shot. Your life reads like a fun sitcom. Your writing always brings out a good chuckle and I can really picture the scene going on. Nicely done Phil.
