When both my daughters were brownies and guides they used to play the trumpet in the local scout and guide marching band.
My eldest daughter is now a music teacher at secondary school and also volunteers as a 'leader' of the band she used to play in (she teaches trumpet to the trumpet section).
Today it was church parade to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.
This image shows the band marching up to St. Mary's church Arnold. It's a damp grey morning and bland sky, but very mild.
My daughter played the 'Last Post' in church at 11 am.
I took a few pictures, many better than this, but this image is shot from behind because many of the band are young children.
Oh well done your daughter , a teacher & a trumpet player !!!! You must have been proud parents to hear her play 'The Last Post'' must have made the hairs on your neck stand up !!! Nice bright picture of all these young people with purpose in life !!!
really nice shot - it's good to see village areas still taking on this tradition...I remember there being a huge gathering around our church and memorial when I was in the brownies!
good photo
