Newark Market Place

We went to Newark on Saturday afternoon.

It was a bright sunny day...cold but sunny

This is the spire of the parish church dominating the skyline of the market place.

I used to work in Newark (for about 6 years) and I really liked the little market town on the banks of the river Trent

I think the image has a bit of a 'French town' feeling to it !

When I saw this photo & before I read your words it put me in mind of a foreign town but I thought Dutch...I don't know why as I have never been to Holland , anyway definatly foreign !

I love the way that the three types of tirangle get more pointed as they go up the shot. tents, gables and the Spire. Nice alliteration

great shot Phil - I've only been to Newark a couple of times (mostly due to the A1 being shut and diversions in place!) but I did stop off - I quite lieks it - the park is lovely as is the market place nad some great old buildings. Caught the spire well here
