Those of you who know Nottingham will be aware of the 'Goose Fair'.........Those of you who don't...well it's meant to be the largest travelling fair in the UK and is a well established Nottingham Tradition dating back over 700 years.
It's now high tech funfairs rather than selling geese, but does allow lots of photo opportunities.
We went on Wednesday evening 'early doors' about 7.15 pm.
I put my EOS 450D to ISO-400 , turned the dial to 'P' for ...cough ...'Professional' and let my camera do the work !
This is a shot of one of the young men supervising the 'bungee' ride. The one were you sit in a capsule, attached to a long elastic band and then they release you upwards into the sky. His 'customers' are currently high in the sky bouncing like a ball on the end of an ....errrrr elastic band !! I have a shot of some of his customers too !
When I say 'you sit in a capsule'. I didn't actually mean myself !!!
I don't know if the colours are a tad too vibrant, the only adjustments were 'auto levels' in the GIMP photo editor.
The colours are great - and his expression. @psychographer has a photo of the bungee but as I told her I have a phobia about it bungeeing before the people are strapped in!
@sleepdozer57 ahh peter , we are useless at the moment and kevin davies .....should hang his boots up ...we take the easy lump it option when he's around ....marching on together
The colours need to be vibrant as it is a vibrant world in the entertainment business! I can't imagine anything worse than being bungeed into the sky by this bored looking young man!! I always used to hold the coats at the bottom!!!! These traditional fairs are good fun to walk around at night though....long may they continue!
I used to love Goose Fair. Didn't really have the same appeal when I went last year. Mind you it was still light and that has never felt right. I love how excited this fellow looks!
lol
Oh that sounds horrendous..........i can't even go round on the big wheel these days!! marvellous colours and just love the utterly disinterested expression on the bungee boy!!
@fannyb thanks fanny, no rides for me either......i've done most of the white knuckles with my daughters ....although i cannot cope with being spun !!!
What a good looking young man, I like his dreamy gaze, as if he were far, far away. You couldn't get me in one of those things for all the tea in China!
