As you know we've had lots of rain. This path is normal dry and easy to walk on, but the heavy rain has turned it into a little stream as the water runs off the fields.
This is nothing compared to what was happening less than five miles away in the Trent valley. My eldest daughters fiancée's Grandparents got a call from the 'Environment Agency' at 3 am on Sunday morning to let them know that the River Trent was about to burst it's banks. Luckily the flood water only made it to the Front door step !!!
That's my wife (Jane) and Ruby dodging the puddles and water ....Ruby does not like puddles and rain, but the walk was in beautiful sunshine, so she had to do a lot of 'whippet jumping' to avoid the wet bits !!!
There's a bit of contre jour to this shot, with the sun streaming towards the camera.
This is a beautiful scene Phil, I love the long length of the wet path, you can see all the way to the end.
A very nice touch with the contre jour of Ruby & Jane, just the right touch of human & dog interest. Lucky you with a bit of sun to brighten your day, to be flooded out of your home is the pitts!
