Winter Bandstand : Nottingham Arboretum by phil_howcroft

Winter Bandstand : Nottingham Arboretum

Nottingham City Council put on a free public event at the Arboretum park.

Once the sun had set and the light disappeared they held a 'Christmas in the park' event form 4pm to 6pm.

A brass band concert, christmas carols, a man and his guitar, free mince pies and mulled wine (none alcoholic), reef making, father christmas. The trees in the park were lit by coloured lights.

It was a good couple of hours...a community feel good factor prevailed...

This is the brass band, playing at the bandstand, which once stood in the Castle grounds, but was moved to the Aberetium in 1881 yes 1881 !!!)

The bandstand has appeared in my 365 before ....

I agree with @sparkle - it isn't Christmas till you've heard a brass band - especially the Sally Army. Posh band stand.

Very smart bandstand...our Sally army had to stand in the doorway of our local supermarket..warmer maybe but not so jolly as this!!
