Football Boots

No, not boots I play football in, but boots I wear when I go to the football !

I've not played football since 2001, when I tore my left calf muscle playing "football tennis" on holiday in Menorca. I went to volley a ball and I heard the muscle tear in my standing leg and fell in a heap. Ouch it hurt and I got NO sympathy from my wife..."What on earth were you doing playing football with people half your age ! I was 44 at the time !

Anyway these are my boots, really comfy, I wear them to work too in the winter. They were on my patio this afternoon.

Converted to mono in GIMP and a G'MIC film filter (Ilford XP2 I think), a vignette abd a black border

I like the light on the leather on the right hand one - they appear to be in very good condition taking into account that you wear them so often!

@maggiemae thanks Maggie , I am quite light footed and look after my shoes...I think I've cleaned them once !!!

Good boots....my favourite footwear. Your wife sounds like me....I tell Harry not to do certain things such as go in a pen of cattle on the farm next door bedding up...he is too old! 44 sounds very young to me but a torn muscle is not to be sniffed at!
My DIL made me laugh the other day, she has been taking Max (3...4 in August ) to rugby school! For kids aged 3 to 9 I think she said....no wonder they play good rugby in NZ !

@happypat thanks Pat, well most footballs don't make it beyond the mid to late thirties, so 44 is a bit old...13 years ago !!

much like Judith, I do love a good shoe shot... something about shoes that seems so personal and expressive. Nice job. Black and White was a perfect choice.
