Isolated Lavender by phil_howcroft

Isolated Lavender

One Lavender stem growing on the lavelder bush behind my shed.

I was waiting for a bee to settle down on it, but no bees were playing

3 World Cup Things

1) I got out of my chair and clapped Costa Rica at the end of 120 minutes. Class Team, Class Coach, Played football honestly and with some style. Class Sportsmen too, dignity in defeat

2) Tim Krul, the Substitute Dutch goalkeeper , no class, no style. Walking up to the penno taker and trying to psyche the Costa Rican players out is not what we want to see on a football field, it's a disgrace. Ref should have stopped him doing it . I hope Argentina and Messi run rings around the Dutch and send them home.

3) Germany Argentina Final me thinks !
Beautiful macro. We watched the game here in Richmond but didn't catch the subtleties of the game as you did. It does amuse me how psyched they get after a score when in many sports the winners are expected to play it very controlled and low key.

Fantastic focus, here, Phil. Well done. I agree with your assessment of Costa Rica. They played their hearts out.

I don't need to read any papers about World Cup.....here is the latest! Must admit I have completely lost track of football since the tennis started...no contest for me specially as England bombed. I like your lavender........your talk of sheds reminded me of the pictures of the inside if your shed all those months ago......it was like Alladins Cave!
