Derelict Substation

This is a derelict substation on the site of the former Gedling Colliery, which is now being converted into a country park.

It's not officially open yet , but you can gain access at various point around the edge.

Today, Jane, Ruby and myslef gained access by squeezing through a gap in the gate that was once the main entrance to the pit.

This was shot by pushing my camera through the steel railing protecting the old substation from trespassers. It looks like "beano" gained access to do a bit of graffiti.

Used to love the Beano......is it still around or too old fashioned compared to Superman etc! Very artistic graffiti .....precise & clean.
