Arnold Town FC , undercover standing area (faded brown)

Me and my mate Bill went to watch some non league football on Wednesday night to watch Arnod Town play host to Aylestone Park FC

I worked out that with a 19:45 kick off I might get 15 minutes of decent light to take some action shots before the light faded.

However the visiting team arrived late so the referee gave them aan extra 15 minutes to warm up, which meant an 20:00 hours kick off at which point the light was too poor for fast shutter shots

So the image you have is one of the two stands at the ground. Edited in Rawtherapee with a faded brown profile added.

I was sure I had posted this stand before, but I did a quick search of my photostream and could not find it

It has however appeared on my flickr photostream back in August 2012

I really like the tones and feel to this

The match finished 3-3 and by full time it was really really cold as the temperatures dropped from 20C at midday to 4C at 21:45 !!!

Awesome shot

Great tones in this shot. Nice candid shot of fans enjoying the game. So this is literally a "stand"...no sitting?

Aylestone park - is that a Leicester club (sounds a familiar name from my childhood)
I hope the crowds were well behaved!

A bit cosy for those who want to take cover Phil.. Sounds like you enjoyed the match despite the cold!

Well I hope for Arnold town has more than six supporters! Honestly so,lovely to be relaxed about what time is kick off....beats these large clubs hands down!

A great little stand. There is something special about watching a match at local grounds like this.

This makes me want to see the action - good teaser of a shot. I like the processing too, it's so like the faded, colour photos in my memories box.

Beautiful capture of this tiny stand. What a difference from the big stadia. My son went to watch Juventus play against Monaco a week ago and he was amazed at the crowd and the atmosphere, so much so that he is planning to go again to watch them against Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Euro Champions League.

@quietpurplehaze yes 4c is not much fun hazel and the ground is surrounded by fields so the temp drops quick with no urban protection

@nicknac thanks nick, glad you like

@eyesmile yes we call them stands gena, at professional level the supporters have to sit , they are not allowed to have terracing with no seats after several horrific disaster

@kerristephens cheers kerri

Fun processing ... I'd prefer to see less behind the shelter and more infront to 'indicate' where they are looking. Bloody cold me thinks!
