50 mono portraits at 50mm : No. 41 : Nicole

This is Nicole one of the models who came on the Arnold and District Camera Club summer outing to Kelham Hall yesterday.

This was shot in natural light, in the shade near to the main entrance to the hall.

Nicole regularly models for club member Verity.

Verity was the 3rd portrait of my series.

Verity has just opened a portrait studio in Nottingham.

Edited in Rawtherapee , using a natural skin tones filter and an Ilford HP5 film emulation

I presume she has clothes on! Good to have these models for practicing portraiture - where else can you do this! I think it needs to be inside!

I like the wisps of hair floating around her face. It makes the portrait look natural, despite her make up.

Good portrait, happy to hear she wasn't catching her death...

Models for portrait practice are great, I'm sure but I do really like your natural, on-the-spot portraits. This is a beautiful classic portrait.

@happypat thank you Pat, glad you like my portrait, I'm getting near the end now :)

@ivan thanks Ivan

@quietpurplehaze thanks hazel, i tend to agree with you. Taking photos of the models was a bit too clinical / efficient, no edge or spontaneity that you get with a street portrait
