On Monday we went blackberry picking down a bridle path between Calverton and Woodthorpe.
It is usually rich pickings as far as blackberries go, with lots of fruit laden bushes. However the council seem to have some some serious hedgerow maintenance resulting in next to no blackberries available.
Jane remembered that she had seen some growing on the outskirts of some industrial units in Arnold.
So we abandoned the bridle way in favour of a very urban blackberry picking session.
As you can see the urbanberries provided lots of fruit
They look good blackberries and your shot is of the moment as we still pick them and also nostalgic, reminding me of going out with the whole family, including grandparents, in the Suffolk countryside for them.
