I had an excellent stranger meeting on Sunday with Yakshi.
We were going for a family meal in Nottingham, so before Jane and myself met up with Kirsty, Claire, Matt and Matt, I went for a little wander around Hockley and the Lace Market , while Jane went and did a bit of shopping.
In the Lace market I saw Yakshi being photographed by her friend Harriet.
I approached them and asked if they were photography students.
Yakshi told me she was a fashion designer and blogger and was modeling some of her clothes.
Yakshi, graduated from Nottingham Trent Uni; in 2013 and set up her own knitwear company, producing her own high quality branded label clothes.
I told Yakshi and Harriet about my 100 strangers project and asked if I could do some photos of Yakshi.
As you can see by this mono shot Yakshi was pleased to model for me.
BTW : the "happy beanie" hat worn by Yakshi is one of her designs .
I am no fashion expert (although having a wife and two daughters I like to think I know what is stylish in womens fashion), but Yakshi has some fabulous designs on her website. Take a peek at the link below:

I took quite a few pictures and promised to email them to Yakshi. I apologised to Harriet for interrupting her photoshoot.
Harriet told me she was just learning about DSLR's as she was really an iphone photographer. Harriet showed me some of the shots on the back of her camera and quite a few were overexposed. I offered to look at her settings and I realised that Harrier had accidentally set the EV to +2. I suggested shooting aperture priority , ISO 400 or 200 at f5.6. Harriet tried these settings and got some good results.
Yakshi thought the photos I had took were good, especially the full length shots (see the link in the comments)
I told Yakshi and Harriet that I was on Flickr. They both suggested I set up an Instagram account as Instagram and it's hashtags will get you wider exposure than flickr.
I followed their advice and set up an account yesterday :)
I thanked Yakshi and Harriet for their time and wished them a successful photoshoot. Yakshi said she would keep in touch :)
I did my mono conversion for this shot in Darktable.
