Old Window by phil_howcroft

Old Window

Old Window, or perhaps "Ye olde window"

Spotted on our Sunday walk down Lambley Dumbles

Edited in Darktable, utilising the following sliders clarity / recover highlights / recover shadows / contrast / tone mapping and adding an old Kodak film emulation (film emulation created by the very talented Portuguese photographer João Almeida)

Who'd have thought an old window could be so photogenic. Look at the state of those old net curtains !
It's nearly ready for dropping out Phil. The bruckwork doesn't look too hot either but some great textures.

Great shot Phil, you don't see many sash windows these days.

@allie912 thanks allison, we've never really explored Lambley Dumbles before even though it is on our doorstep. FYI : Lambley is a village and Dumbles is defined thus.....

@phil_howcroft Need more pictures, please! Loved the names of the flowers found there as described in wikipedia.

So little yet so much to see !! I love it , the misty / grimed glass , the weathered bricks , the blistering paintwork , all screaming -- " We've been here for years ! " - great tones and textures nicely edited Phil ! fav

You seem to have used all the applications available to create this masterpiece, Phil. The textures are fantastic.

It was the curtains that caught my eye, before I read you comment...I really like how the blue sets off the browns and was surprised just to see something in these windows.

Nice brickwork and the neglected paintwork just adds to the charm of this photo.
