This is my first stranger for a month and takes me into my final 10 images of the 100.
We went to Nottingham Arboretum Park today to watch one of the summer "brass bands" in the park concerts.
We took Ruby our Whippet with us and before the concert started, I took Ruby a little walk around the park.
In a shaded area of trees I noticed what I thought was "Police do not cross" tape, so Ruby and I went to investigate.
It wasn't a police "do not cross line" ! It was Georgie and Casper doing some "tight rope walking".
I started chatting to them both, asking if they were street performers and telling them I thought it was a "Police Incident" when I first caught sight of the wire ! Casper told me they weren't entertainers , it was just a way of relaxing :)
Georgie was doing the tight rope walking and she was rather good at it :) . The wire was hung between two trees and made tense by two ratchets
After a little chat and Georgie making some fuss over Ruby, I told Georgie about my 100 strangers project. Georgie asked if it was on Instagram. I told her the project was on Flickr, but I did post some of the images on Instagram. Georgie looked me up on her mobile and liked the images and was pleased to take part in the project.
Just as I was about to take her picture a little dog came and spooked Ruby. Ruby started twisting, turning and leaping in a frightened kind of way and I had to do a stern "Sit Ruby" in an attempt to calm her down.
Casper said he would hold Ruby's lead while I took the shots, so I let him hold Ruby while I took a few shots of Georgie.
This is my first stranger shot with my Sony Alpha 6000. I only have the kit lens for the camera, so I bumped up the aperture to ensure the portrait was sharp. As you can see the Sony has done a great job and Georgie has made a great stranger.
Georgie is a student and is studying Law at Bristol University. I gave Georgie one of my cards and she said she would email me for the photos.
The image was edited in Darktable.
This picture is number 91 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
