100 Strangers : No. 97 : LuLu

It has rained for most of this week (and I've been off work !!!), so when we saw the weather forecast was going to be dry today, I searched on Google for somewhere to visit.

Google told me there was a "Party In The Park" in Beeston, so we took a tram ride to Beeston and watched some bands, people watched and spent a pleasant afternoon in the sun.

It was also a good opportunity to add to the run in to my 100 strangers.

I added in style too when I met Lulu.

Lulu writes for The Beestonian magazine, which to quote their facebook page are "an independent magazine; free and not-for-profit… and in love with Beeston". Lulu told me she has her own column in the magazine. In fact she said she might write about our meeting.

When not writing for the magazine Lulu also works for Tesco's..... Tesco's finest one might say (see what I did there)

Lulu was very patient with me as I photographed her in several locations i.e. the side of the beer tent / in the middle of the arena / and leaning on a tree in the shade.

I opted for the side of the beer tent as the tent canvas gave me a blank canvas so to speak, to showcase Lulu's fabulous hair.

How I met Lulu, had a bit of similarity to how I met Janine (stranger 93). Lulu is a friend of Alan, who is a friend of stranger Holly Cassidy (stranger 58) and Lulu was with Alan and another lady at the park, so it was easy to approach Lulu and introduce the concept of 100 strangers to her.

As for the shot, I used f2.2 on my 50mm 1.8 OSS lens on my Sony A6000. On reflection, I should have probably gone to something like f5.6 as there was never going to be any bokeh background against the beer tent background. Anyway the f2.2 setting has done a decent job. I think in this shot Lulu is smiling with her eyes.

I gave Lulu a card and she is going to contact me so I can email her some of the photos I took.

Thanks for being a great stranger Lulu, I hope you like this shot,

This picture is number 97 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page

Love this with the wisps of her red hair flowing freely as if escaping from every thing else that is neat and tidy ! Lovely capture of her kind , smiling eyes !

Her smile goes from one side of her face to the other and it looks so natural and very friendly. Her eyes, too, seem to complement her lovely smile. I make it she is a nice lady to meet and you have brought out all her good qualities with your shot. Fav.
