Meet Andy and Gilbert (Gilbert is on the left), stranger 106 in my second round of 100 strangers.
I met Andy in Newark upon Trent today. Andy was taking part in a stop "smoking campaign" for Nottinghamshire County Council.
Dressed in a multi coloured suit and with a fluffy purple sidekick, how could I not ask Andy to be a stranger.
"Stop smoking and life becomes more colourful" was the tag line that Andy was promoting.
When I asked Andy to take part in my project he didn't hesitate to say yes.
I had spotted what I thought was a pebble dash wall , so I asked Andy to to move away from the display he was stood by . However when I got to the location at the side of a shop there were big wrought Iron gates, so I had to make do with a bit of pebble dash and the shop window for the backdrop.
Andy told me he comes from Hull, the city of culture and was voted the 60th most influential person in the city. Well I am sure he said 60the, it could have been 6th !
I asked Andy how he managed to get the job as compère / host of the information stall today. He said he visited doctors surgeries and dentists promoting health and he got it via that avenue.
It was quite a quick photoshoot as I had took Andy away from his stall.
Andy told me his twitter feed and website address, so I could look him up for more info.
i think Andy was probably being quite modest when he said he promotes health. He is actually qualified to train the following items : Resuscitation (Basic Life Support and beyond), First Aid in the Workplace (EFAW & FAW), Automated External Defibrillation, Anaphylaxis. Conflict Resolution (CRT, NHS Standard Syllabus), Moving & Handling (Basic)
Andy also has a wide range of entertainment and comedy genres.
Andy is also involved in organising Hull Pride and is a member of the Hull & East Riding LGBT Forum and is a regular at Bradford, Manchester and Gran Canaria Prides, I did wonder if his suit was LGBT related :)
So there you have it, Andy and Gilbert my 106th stranger.
I actually found the RAW file, really hard to edit with all the vibrant colours and was really tempted to post the out of camera jpeg file as the Sony Alpha 6000 produces some top class jpeg files.
Thanks for being stranger 106 Andy.

There's something about Gilbert's wild-eyed stare that's reminiscent of Animal in the Muppets.
A great addition to your Part Two collection, Phil.
