100 Strangers : Round 2 : No. 127 : Stuart

This photo is all about the colour, although I did actually do a mono version of the shot too.

I went to Barnsley today to watch my team Bolton Wanderers play Barnsley in what can only be described in football terms as a "relegation six pointer"

Anyway more about the football later, Meet Stuart who I met outside Barnsley's Oakwell stadium collecting donations for "Cancer Research"

I knew Stuart would make a great stranger but walked past him as I wanted to get my bearings as to where the "away end" was situated.

Having worked out where the Bolton fans were allocated, I walked back towards where stuart and his bucket were standing and asked him to be one of my strangers.

Barnsley play in red and a lot of the outside of the stadium is painted red, Red brick walls and in this picture the red exit doors

Stuart was organising a "white collar boxing" event in Barnsley. White Collar Boxing is where male and female beginners receive 8 weeks of free training and at the end of the training take part in a charity amateur boxing match against fellow participants.

Stuart told me that last year they raised over £1500 for cancer research.

Stuart looked quite serious while I was taking his picture, but when I asked him if he was a boxer, he burst out laughing and I caught this fabulous smile. The answer to my question was "No" :)

I hope you like this shot of Stuart, I think he makes a great stranger pic.

Thanks for being stranger 127 Stuart, good luck with your event and charity.

Oh and the football. A tense affair. We were awful in the first half and were 1 nil down at the interval. Roared on by over 3000 Wanderers fans we scored two late goals to go 2 - 1 up, only for Barnsley to equalise in the third minute of added on time ! Such is the drama of football !

Such an intense gaze! Goes well with the intense colors of your background.

A lovely vibrant shot - matching the warmth of that smile that reaches his eyes !

I like the simplicity of the red and blue - it makes Stuart's face stand out.

Lovely splash of colour as the backdrop. Nice portrait too. Well done.

Super portrait. And what a great back-drop!

Great portrait shot with the red door as a background. Stuart has a lovely smile, and, of course, beard. BTW, if you were to ask me which of the two pictures - this or the b&w version - I would chose the b&w one.
