My second stranger from our holiday to Mallorca and my second stranger from the hotel staff at the Vanity Suites Hotel, Cala Mesquida.
This is Luis, the head waiter / jefe de camareros / maitre d'hotel
Luis always had a nice smile and kind word for you at the restaurant.
I asked Luis for a photo at Lunchtime as we were exiting the restaurant. I managed to get some catchlights in Luis's eyes by asking him to stand underneath the canopy of the restaurant outdoor terrace. So the photo was shot with natural light and the canopy was a bit like softbox light.
I asked Luis how long he'd been working at the hotel and to my surprise he told me it was in fact his first week of employment.
One evening in the restaurant he gave an impromptu lesson in how to open a bottle of wine to one of the waitresses at our table, going through all the different techniques of removing the seal , cork, smelling the cork and pouring the wine. I assisted his demo by doing a really good "customer tasting" too
Thanks for being stranger 131 in my project Luis and good luck in your new job. I am sure the customers at the hotel will appreciate your hard work and friendly manner.
