I've decide to do a new project to run alongside my 100 strangers series.
I'm going to do my take on URBAN.
I'm starting the series with this shot of our local Sainsbury's in Arnold, Nottingham
Shot with my Sony A6000 and Samyang 12mm f2 lens . I was sat on a bench with my whippet dog , waiting for my wife and daughter to come out of the shop.
Notice the family waiting on the left hand side of the frame. They were buying drinks and snack to take to the Arnold Carnival which was taking place in Arnot Hill Park, which is across the road about 1 minute away.
Ivan, I have the 30mm 3.5 macro lens for my a6000. I did not realise when I bought it that it has no image stabilisation so was a bit concerned as all my other lenses do have it. Howver it has been great and if you asked me to name my fav lens, the macro lens would be my choice. I like it for macro and also a walkabout lens. Any macro shot on my page has been taken with it. I expect you know that Sony usually have special offers on lenses, next will be autumn I think. The only other macro lens I looked at was way out of my price range.
As you know, Phil, I am not too comfortable with urban so I shall follow this with interest. What’s that catch phrase: more rabbit than Sainsbury’s? Ruby would surely like that!
@quietpurplehaze thanks haze, I think my urban project is going to be just an extension to my strangers as I think at heart I am a street photographer. I am going to try an d make it more about the architecture and buildings rather than people, but thes people help tell the story :)
@quietpurplehaze Thank you, Hazel, sounds as if it has been good to you. I'll look at the 30mm, and for offers. I thought focusing distance for close-ups was very near...I had a 100mm with my Pentax slr.

@sailingmusic thanks myrna , much appreciated
@christophercox thanks christopher, I think "urban" is going to be easier than "strangers"
@ivan thanks Ivan , glad you like this, see Haze's comment re macro lenses
Yes, I have read the same observation as yours about the focussing distance. But pricewise there was not an alternative for me.
