Ruby with my Vintage Helios 44M by phil_howcroft

Ruby with my Vintage Helios 44M

This is my first picture with my Russian Helios 44M 2/58 lens (58mm f2).

The lens was from a local charity shop and I had change from ten pounds.

This was shot with a relatively high ISO and wide open at f2, using natural light on a dark day

Ruby is always a willing sitter for portraits
A lovely capture of Ruby -- I always have to smile at her ears ! Great focus and detail - her eyes really sparkle ! Bless her ! fav

"Ears" to you on this shot...aside from the focus and catchlight, etc, the background works so well..I especially like the mottled browns.

Every time you post a shot of her, I miss my greyhounds but then when I need to drop everything and leave town I am glad for the easier care of my cat and birds now.

Great clarity and out of focus background. I guess you'll be using it much more.
