Phil's Giant Golden Bauble at Dusk (vintage lens) by phil_howcroft

Phil's Giant Golden Bauble at Dusk (vintage lens)

We bought some giant bauble Christmas Decorations many years ago, maybe 20 years ago, from IKEA.

I hang them on my hanging basket brackets outside our front door.

They have made an appearance on my 365 before.

I shot them at dusk, as a dusk makes nice sky colours..

I kept a bit of the Xmas lights in the shot to help the story telling aspect of the image.

Shot with a new to me vintage lens. A Yashica 50mm ML f1.7 lens. I picked the lens up from a bric a brac shop a couple of weeks ago

What a good idea -- Nice on black , Phil

So lovely to see and you captured this one beautifully. Cherish them because you may not find baubles of the same material as these.

@sangwann @maggiemae @777margo @blueace @beryl thanks everyonefor your comments , I forgot to say it was raining hard when I took the shot ! The size of the bauble is probably just a bit smaller than a football !

Gotta love Ikea... I miss it, as we don't have one here in NZ!
