Carl Zeiss Jena 50mm F2.8 does Contre jour Arnold

I am still testing my vintage lenses.

I think a good way of testing a lens is to see how it copes with contre jour light,

So this is sunny contre jour Arnold. I think the lens passed the test

No sign of flair in the lens which is dated form 1962/3

Lee
You just love these 50mm's. Good shot Phil.

The sky looks so bright and sunny against the grey of the buildings!

I like how the b&w makes the scene look as if it could be the sane era

I do not know what makes it look such a sleepy scene to me considering it is past midday but I like it !

I see a lovely sunny day which gives some good contrasts in this b&w shot, Ivan. Beautiful streetie.

A good test, Phil. The lens and you have passed it I'd say. Until a couple of years ago I had a Carl Zeiss Jena 135mm for my Pentax Spotmatic. I had to throw it - and some other vintage lenses - away as they became infested with fungus. It was during a year when the humidity here on the west coast of Wales never dropped below 70%. I now keep all my lenses in air tight boxes each with a small rechargeable dehumidifier.
