Phil and Ruby in The Woods (Yashica 50mm ML f1.7 vintage lens)

We went a walk this afternoon from Arnold to Bestwood Country Park via the Collier path

My daughter came too as her husband had gone to the football .

I asked her to take a photo of me and Ruby with one of my vintage lenses.

It was pretty dark and I think I set the aperture to f2.8 , maybe f2 , so the DOF was pretty shallow. I am sharp, but maybe my eyes are not quite pin sharp, but hey I decided to post the pic as she captured a lovely moment between me and my best friend Ruby (my only friend some might say...I always use that line when posting Ruby's pic)

Vintage Yashica 50mm ML f1.7 lens , this version of the lens was made in Japan with Zeiss glass. The marking on the lens barrel tells me it was Zeiss glass , it doesn't actually say glass , but if I read up on it the words on the barrel and the order of the words tells me it is. The internet is a great resource for information.

A super photo of you and Ruby - A super contact between you and the camera ! fav

Best friends ever, Ruby will never cheat on you or fail to welcome when you return home. Beautiful capture. Perhaps your daughter should join the group now.

Your daughter did well, just nicely off centre & a fuzzy background! Looking good both of you! I expect Ruby had a great walk!

Your daughter has a good eye for composition. Love that Ruby is your "only friend." That made me smile!
